PMHC Says They “Advocate for All Pilots”—But They Don’t Know What to Do With Us
The Pilot Mental Health Campaign (PMHC) just sent out a polished email claiming they “advocate for aeromedical mental health reform for all pilots.”
Let’s be clear: they don’t.
Just 24 hours earlier, PMHC board member and attorney Joe LoRusso contacted our team with a veiled legal threat. His message was unmistakable: stop calling out PMHC’s hypocrisy, or face consequences. We were told there might be a meeting to explore a way forward—so, in good faith, we paused our public criticism.
What followed? A carefully packaged PR blast. A public celebration of growth, inclusivity, and leadership—while continuing to ignore the very pilots they privately admitted they “don’t know what to do with.”
And that’s the problem.
These aren’t edge cases. These are thousands of working pilots who have:
- Been forced into inpatient treatment with no diagnosis
- Spent years under surveillance by non-medical personnel
- Had certifications denied based on internal FAA opinion, not science
- Lost their careers and reputations without due process
PMHC wants to fight stigma—but refuses to call out the institutions and unions that exploit stigma to ruin lives.
🔍 Let’s be clear about what this is—and what it isn’t.
- This is not about attention. We don’t want to be spotlighted—we want pilots to stop being erased.
- This is not bitterness. Many of us have long-documented sobriety. Many were never even diagnosed. This isn’t about denial—it’s about defending against institutional abuse.
- This is not division. Division comes from exclusion. We’re fighting for the unity PMHC claims to support—one that includes every pilot, not just the easy ones.
- This is not exaggeration. These stories aren’t rare—they’re repeated, patterned, and documented.
- This is not anti-safety. We support real oversight, real treatment, and real mental health reform. But not coercion. Not corruption. Not lies.
This is about the truth. And the truth is: we are the pilots that the current system has harmed the most.
And PMHC doesn’t want to talk about us.
We want to be clear:
We are not calling out PMHC because we see them as competitors. We’re doing it because we still believe they could be a strong ally.
PMHC has national visibility, media influence, and access to lawmakers. That kind of platform should come with courage and responsibility—not fear, silence, and selective messaging.
Yes—we want to get along with everyone.
But we will not stand by quietly in the face of ongoing injustice—and frankly, lies.
We have the truth on our side. And it’s undeniable.
The abuses we speak of are not hypothetical—they are documented, they are ongoing, and they are destroying lives.
True advocacy doesn’t cherry-pick which pilots are worth fighting for.
It means standing with the most difficult, most marginalized, most mistreated among us—even when it’s not easy. Even when it’s not popular.
✈️ So here’s our challenge:
- Acknowledge our coalition
- Endorse the Pilots for HIMS Reform Act of 2025
- Stand up for truth, science, fairness, and accountability
If you’re unwilling to do that—then stop pretending you represent all pilots.
Because we are those pilots. And we’re not going away.
We’re not here to start fights. We’re here to end injustice. And we will not be silenced.
